Kid’s Pork Barbeque


It’s my version of pork barbeque, specially made to catch the attention of kids. On my observation, In general most of the children loves to eat something sweet. Who’s children cant resist on a marshmallows, chocolates and many more. So I made this barbeque more on the sweet and saucy side. It is a combination of soy sauce and banana ketsup with an asian twist by adding a fish sauce on the marinade mix. believe me, once you place this on a charcoal grill, every single car or vehicle that pass by on your garage will smell this wonderful barbeque aroma………………..Did you know that pork lessen its fat contents by the method of charcoal or oven grilling. Although pork is associated with lots of heart related diseases such as arising of hi-blood pressure. You might also consider that pork is a good source of vitamins and minerals such as riboflavin, potassium and thiamine. Thiamine, along with other B vitamins, works to produce energy from the carbohydrates you eat. It also helps to keep your eyes, skin and hair healthy and works to maintain your nervous system………..

Ingredients: makes 15-20  sticks depending on your desired size of barbecue

  • 1 kilogram pork meat – thinly slice
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup dark soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp achuete powder
  • 1 cup sprite or 7 up
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp of salt & pepper
  • 3/4 cup banana ketsup

Procedures:

  • in a container, mix all ingredients except pork meat. mix well then add in pork and rubbed evenly
  • place 4-5 pcs of porkmeat on a skewer(bamboo stick should be soaked to water for at least 2 hours to prevent from burning)
  • best marinate for atleast 3 hours before grilling. brush the remaining marinade mix upon grilling your bbq..
