Adobong Atay at Balunbalunan(chicken Liver, hearts and Giblets in soy sauce)


If you’re not a filipino, this might sounds exotic to you!! But not for us, It is a popular dish especially in small cafeteria(turo-turo)..Usually if we want to try exotic foods, we cooked it the “Adobo Style”..Exotic foods such as adobong palaka(frog), Adobong sawa(snake), and more. We also cook it a little bit spicy….Did you know that chicken liver is one of the most concentrated sources of vitamin A. Vitamin A helps to promote healthy vision, promote fertility in males and females, and allow for proper embryonic development.

Ingredients: (serves 6-8 persons)

  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 5 cloves crushed garlic
  • 250 gms chicken giblets
  • 250 gms chicken liver
  • 250 gms chicken hearts
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 pcs bay leaf
  • 3 pcs dried chillies(optional)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp pepper corns
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce

Procedures:

  • in a pan, heat oil and saute garlic, add in hearts, giblets and liver. stir-fry until brown. seasoned with salt & pepper
  • pour in the rest of the ingredients and adjust your taste by adding fish sauce . cook until sauce is thickened.
  • serve hot!!
